The Health House

Guia de Camino „SIGNPOST“ in URUBAMBA, PERU!

Construction phase 2

The house is built with the typical local ‘adobe’ building blocks, which are made by hand and ensure a perfect indoor climate. The house is built according to traditional Peruvian building techniques, which are also exclusively handcrafted. The Peruvian construction workers are hard at work under the direction and supervision of Kurt Schibler.

Construction phase 1

The fallow land must be prepared for construction. A stone wall is built around the entire plot and two wells are constructed. This is followed by the excavation for the foundations and the laying of the various pipes. Large machines are at work; a lot of muscle power and experience are required.
The site is located at an altitude of around 3,000 metres in the sacred valley of the Incas. The traditional construction method is not only architecturally very beautiful, it is also perfectly adapted to the local conditions.
